Kennedy Meadows’ family and friends welcome you to the Gateway of the Emigrant Wilderness. Since 1917 Kennedy Meadows Resort has been a destination for people to come and enjoy the High Sierra.
Kennedy Meadows has something for everyone with it’s 1950’s charm and hospitality. For generations, people have enjoyed our rustic cabins, general store, old-fashioned saloon, horseback riding, and family style dining.
Surrounding Kennedy Meadows is the Stanislaus National Forest and Emigrant Wilderness areas. This provides opportunities for beautiful hikes and riding to nearby lakes and streams, excellent fishing and hunting, stunning scenery for the photographer and a chance to enjoy Mother Nature at her finest.
Bring your friends and family and come enjoy a piece of history right in the middle of the High Sierra, where you’ll be treated like a friend.
The Saloon
As in most high country areas where packers, drovers, cowboys, and backpackers gather, a waterhole is a must. Built by Kennedy Meadows in the 1890’s, “The Saloon” has served drinks for packers, Hollywood stars, politicians and to everyday tourists for over 100 years.
This old fashioned Saloon at Kennedy’s offers beer, wine and liquor. The jukebox and dancing floor, loaded with old country music, make for a good time.
